Beehiiv Rolls Out New Creator Tools, Including Webinars and Customizable Paywalls

Beehiiv, a platform initially known for newsletters, is expanding its offerings to become a comprehensive hub for creators. The company announced a suite of new features designed to reduce the need for creators to juggle multiple tools for their businesses.

Key New Features:

  • Webinars: Creators can now host live events for up to 10,000 attendees directly within Beehiiv. This feature includes video, screen sharing, and chat capabilities, allowing for educational content, product demonstrations, and community building. Events can be free or charged for in multiple currencies.
  • AI Analytics for Podcasts: Building on its recent addition of native podcast hosting, Beehiiv is integrating AI-powered analytics. Creators can use tools like Claude and ChatGPT to ask questions about their podcast data, such as episode performance and listener demographics, without needing to navigate complex dashboards.
  • Metered Paywalls: This feature allows creators to control how much content is freely accessible before prompting users to subscribe. Creators can define the number of free posts and the reset period (daily, weekly, monthly, yearly).
  • Paid Trials: Creators can now offer paid trials with customizable lengths, prices, and billing cycles to attract new subscribers.

Strategic Expansion:

These new tools position Beehiiv as a competitor to platforms like Patreon, Substack, Zoom, Kit, and Ghost, aiming to consolidate various creator needs into a single ecosystem.

Future Developments:

Beehiiv plans to introduce video support for podcasts in Q2 and ads later in the year.

First-Quarter Performance:

The company reported its best quarter to date, reaching 400 million unique readers, surpassing 50,000 active users, sending 10 billion emails, and achieving over $28 million in annual recurring revenue (ARR).
